Welcome to the home of the National Federation of the Blind of Wisconsin Parents of Blind Children.

Our Mission:

The mission of the National Federation of the Blind is to achieve widespread emotional acceptance and intellectual understanding that the real problem of blindness is not the loss of eyesight but the misconceptions and lack of information which exist. We do this by bringing blind people together to share successes, to support each other in times of failure, and to create imaginative solutions.

What is the Wisconsin POBC?

The Wisconson Parents of Blind Children (WIPOBC) is an organization offering support, information and encouragement to families and friends of blind/visually impaired children.

Kids at the childrens museumThe WIPOBC is a division of the National Federation of the Blind of Wisconsin (NFBWI). The NFBWI is a membership organization of the blind that advocates for the legal, social, educational and economic rights of blind people of all ages. The NFBWI believes that, with proper training in adaptive skills and a positive attitude about blindness, blind and visually impaired children and adults can compete on terms of equality with their sighted peers. The Wisconsin Parents of Blind Children embraces that philosophy and offers its support to the families, educators and friends of blind/visually impaired children who share that goal.
